Missouri Integrated Advanced Information Management System

The Missouri Integrated Advanced Information Management System Project integrates health sciences information and provides access to all those who need the information via a grant from the National Library of Medicine. One component of this grant is to provide consumer health information. A committee and Webpage have emerged to provide access to such information.

The Web is proving to be an invaluable source of information of all kinds, including health . Consumers are rapidly becoming interested in and adept at accessing this information. The MIAMS project considers it important to organize and present reliable information in an easy-to-use form. The committee is in the process of searching out and evaluating health information from the Web and creating pointers in its top page to the more useful sites. Members of the committee include health information providers from across the state including Missouri Division of the American Diabetes Association, Missouri Arthritis Program, Missouri Kidney Program, Daniel Boone Regional Library, the state and local health departments, as well as several entities from within the University of Missouri Health Sciences Center.
